"The only thing missing from Peter Cartwright's recital at Northwards House today was an encore. It was such a splendid performance that I would have loved him to come back for a little tinkle of something. Something frivolous perhaps. But never mind. Nobody in the almost packed house - there might have been about two empty seats and a few among the extra chairs on the side - could have felt cheated. And they rose to their feet to give him a standing ovation."

"This was a generous programme, performed by Marshall-Luck and Cartwright with evident affection for the music and a desire to share their commitment to this repertoire. They deserved the very warm reception that their sincere and accomplished performance received."
"Both violinist and pianist were as skilled in delivering the foot-tapping finale to the Rawsthorne, as they were in the gentler, dreamier lines of Delius’s Sonata in B major and the Cradle Song by Herbert Howells (the latter, another premiere, thanks to the determination of the EMF) – confirming them as two of our country’s very finest performers and advocates of English chamber music."
"With Soprano Sizukiwe Vimbani and pianist Peter Cartwright, one such performance was powerful enough to stir the layers of grief and loss induced by Covid-19 for this writer."
